Linc Government Services Wins Slot on $9.7 Billion U.S. Department of Defense Contract to Provide Language Services to Troops Worldwide

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Linc Government Services, an ABM Industries (NYSE:ABM) company, has been awarded a U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) contract to provide language support services for U.S. troops worldwide. Along with Linc Government Services, five other leading defense contractors were selected. Linc Government Services expects to play a significant role in the 5-year contract, which has a total lifetime value across all contractors of approximately $9.7 billion.

The need for foreign language services currently exceeds the Armed Forces' ability to deliver through its military-trained linguists. The selected contractors will provide translation, interpretation and related language services to U.S. service personnel engaged in humanitarian, peacekeeping, contingency and combat operations around the globe. DOD will issue a series of individual task orders to fulfill the contract requirements, and the scope and pricing for those individual task orders will be determined at the time they are issued. Given the undetermined nature of those individual assignments of work, ABM cannot predict what Linc Government Services' actual revenues will be over the course of the five years.

"We are honored to provide support for our troops deployed around the globe," said Les Cunningham, president of Linc Government Services. "This DLITE contract is a substantial opportunity for Linc Government Services to leverage our prior experience to play a key role in supporting the critical language and communication needs of our U.S. troops worldwide. Given our past experience and current expertise, we are confident in our ability to deliver these essential language services for our troops deployed in the Middle East, North Africa and other stations around the world."

The other companies selected for the contract include Northrup Grumman Technical Services; Mission Essential Personnel; L3 Services; CACI Premier Technology; and Global Linguist Solutions.

Linc Government Services (http://www.thelincgroup.com/linc-government-services.html) provides an extensive set of mission critical and other services designed to address the unique needs and specific challenges of the military and other government agencies providing mission support services. Linc Government Services' range of services includes, among others, integrated facility management services; military base operations; leadership development, education and training; energy efficiency management; medical support services; and construction management. The business became part of ABM when the Company acquired The Linc Group late last year.

Cautionary Statement under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995

This press release contains forward-looking statements that set forth management's anticipated results based on management's current plans and assumptions. Any number of factors could cause the Company's actual results to differ materially from those anticipated. These factors include but are not limited to the following: (1) the contract awarded to Linc Government Services (LGS) is a Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) which enables the awardees to bid on work to be performed under the MATOC; however, there can be no assurance as to (a) the amount of work, if any, that may be awarded to LGS under the MATOC, (b) the amount of revenue associated with any work performed or the profitability of any such work; and (c) bidders which were not awarded such contract have the ability to contest the MATOC award; (2) continuing uncertainty about the funding of the federal government and future budgets may negatively impact the amount of work that is bid out under this MATOC since for many programs, Congress appropriates funds on a fiscal year basis even though a program may extend over several fiscal years; accordingly we cannot predict the extent to which total funding and/or funding for work expected to be performed under this MATOC will be included, increased or reduced as part of future budgets ultimately approved by Congress or be included in the scope of separate supplemental appropriations; and (3) the U.S. Government generally has the ability to terminate contracts, in whole or in part, or it may delay or suspend such contracts, in its discretion. Additional information regarding these and other risks and uncertainties the Company faces is contained in the Company's Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended October 31, 2010 and in other reports we file from time to time with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
