ABM's Linc Government Services Contracts with US Army, Europe to Conduct Military Leadership Program

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The US Army, Europe has awarded Linc Government Services (LGS), LLC, an ABM Industries (NYSE: ABM) company, a multi-year contract to conduct Battlefield Staff Rides (BSRs) in Europe. BSRs are intensive training programs in which US Army officers and non-commissioned officers study historical battlefields to understand the decision processes and the impact of internal and external factors in order to develop current leadership and military doctrine.

LGS provides highly qualified military history instructors with extensive doctrinal, military staff, and operational experience. Unit commanders may choose from nearly 40 different battlefields throughout Europe — including battlefields from the Napoleonic Wars, World War I and World War II. The training includes preparatory readings and formal classroom preparation as well as one to five days of walking the terrain of European battlefields.

"Linc is honored to conduct this important leadership program within the U.S. Military," said Les Cunningham, president of Linc Government Services. "Understanding the history of battle helps prepare the men and women of the Armed Services for the challenges and conflicts today. We are proud once again to support this critical course in military preparedness."

This is the fifth consecutive contract award to the company, making LGS the exclusive provider for these services since 1996. Linc Government Services has provided this unique training to nearly 30,000 of our military warriors.

In addition to providing training to military leaders, LGS sponsors leadership and mentoring seminars for senior and junior executives on behalf of North American corporate clients. These seminars, which similarly are performed on former North American battlefields, emphasize internal and external leadership and communication. Battlefield visits provide examples of both positive and negative leadership scenarios, and invite clients to leverage both the classroom and battlefield training to help analyze their corporate culture and improve their individual and collective methodologies as leaders.
