ABM Volunteers Move Habitat For Humanity Construction Project Closer Towards Completion

ANAHEIM, CA – September 15, 2008 – Demonstrating their commitment to the communities they serve as well as their support for our nation’s veterans, employees of ABM Industries Incorporated (NYSE: ABM) and its subsidiaries (“ABM”) from across Southern California volunteered for two consecutive days to lend a hand at the Habitat for Humanity Orange County pilot construction site in San Juan Capistrano. This innovative housing project will benefit combat-disabled military veterans, their families and surviving families of soldiers killed in action.

“ABM is proud to show our support and gratitude for our military heroes and their families by helping build affordable homes here in Orange County,” said Mike Latham, president of ABM Engineering Services, a subsidiary of ABM Industries. “It’s a small way of giving back to those who have given so much.”

Latham and a team of a few dozen employees from ABM, a leading facility services contractor, rolled up their sleeves to help construct the new housing in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and the community of San Juan Capistrano. Homes for Heroes and Foundation for Families – which will create a unique neighborhood of local families, veterans and families of veterans – is a concept that organizers hope will be emulated in other parts of the country. ABM provides facility services for commercial, retail and other facilities throughout the area, and employs more than 17,000 men and women in Southern California. “Whether it is through the professional services we provide to our customers or the volunteer work on behalf of our neighbors, we are committed to being active, contributing members of the communities we serve,” said Latham.

“Habitat families and volunteers started building the first eight homes in San Juan Capistrano in July, and we expect to complete them early next year," said Sharon Ellis, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. "We are very grateful to ABM, whose employees volunteered their time and energy to help build these homes for qualified local families and disabled veterans. Thank you for helping change lives and change communities in Orange County.”
