NEW YORK, N.Y., Aug 17, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ABM Janitorial Services extends congratulations to all ten of Houston's Greenway Plaza buildings for earning membership in the inaugural class of BOMA 360 Performance Buildings, a new Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International program that recognizes commercial properties demonstrating best practices in building operations and management. The Greenway Plaza buildings are managed by Fort Worth's Crescent Real Estate Equities Limited Partnership and cleaned by ABM Janitorial Services, a subsidiary of ABM Industries Incorporated (NYSE:ABM). ABM, operating through its subsidiaries, is the leading provider of facility services in the United States.

Only 23 buildings in the United States earned inclusion on the BOMA 360 list, which was announced at the recent 2009 BOMA International Conference in Philadelphia. A BOMA 360 Performance Building designation indicates that a commercial property is being managed to the highest standards of excellence.

The Program evaluates six major areas of building operations and benchmarks a building's performance against industry standards. ABM Janitorial Services helps buildings reach required BOMA 360 benchmarks in the 'Environmental/Sustainability' category through ABM's proprietary green cleaning program - ABM Green Care(TM) - and other practices. ABM Security Services, another ABM subsidiary, also works with Greenway Plaza by managing the development's day-to-day security needs. 'Life Safety/Security/Risk Management' is a second category in the six that comprise the BOMA 360 criteria.
