ABM Industries Incorporated Names Erin M. Andre as New Human Resources Officer

SAN FRANCISCO – August 2, 2005 –ABM Industries Incorporated (NYSE:ABM) today announced that Erin M. Andre has been named Senior Vice President, Human Resources. In her position, Andre will be responsible for managing all human resource functions for the company, including employee compensation, benefits and stock administration.

Slipsager, president and CEO of ABM Industries. “Erin’s extensive experience in human resources management and employee development, combined with her familiarity with the service industry, will prove invaluable as we continue to develop our most important asset – the employees of ABM. We look forward to having Erin work closely with our division presidents and our corporate team to enhance our HR programs and systems,” he added.

Prior to joining ABM, Andre most recently served as Vice President, Human Resources for National Energy and Gas Transmission Incorporated (“NGET”) where she was responsible for establishing and building the Human Resources department and infrastructure. In that role, she directed all HR activities for more than 2,000 multi site union and non-union employees. Before joining NGET, Andre worked at PG&E Corporation and its various subsidiary companies for more than 19 years. She held a number of increasingly responsible positions within Human Resources at PG&E, including Director, Human Resources Planning and Development.

A Bay Area native, Andre attended University of the Pacific and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in public administration.
